Texas Connects Coalition

Leaders from Austin Free-Net (AFN) and Technology For All (TFA) have come together to form Texas Connects Coalition (TXC2), a collaborative project addressing digital literacy and access barriers across Texas.
Each TXC2 center is based in community-focused libraires, centers, and other organizations that serve Texas' especially under-resourced. TXC2 centers serve these communities with free access to computer technology, programs and the Internet. For those without the knowledge or skills to use these resources, each center offers a wide spectrum of digital literacy training, from basics to multimedia. The centers also serve as a supplementary learning tool in other courses our partner organizations offer, like GED or ESL classes.

TXC2 By the Numbers:
Number of Public Computer Centers: 74
Number of workstations: 1,391
Total number of lab users: 491,579
Total number of training participants: 72,785
Total training hours: 1,173,044
(As of February 29, 2012)
