Stonebridge Technologies Joins 'Technology For All's' Digital Divide Initiative"

Stonebridge Technologies Named A Premier Partner

Houston, Texas, April 24, 2000 — Stonebridge Technologies, Inc., a leading e-business solutions consulting firm, today announced its plans to provide Web design and e-business consulting services to Technology For All's national digital divide initiative. Technology For All (TFA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation that creates educational and economic opportunities for the disadvantaged through technology access. As a result of its dedication to the Houston community, Stonebridge was named a TFA "Premier Partner" in Technology For All's national effort to create educational and economic opportunities for the disadvantaged through technology access particularly in the area of new emerging Internet-related solutions.

Stonebridge delivers a wide range of e-business and information technology solutions to mid-market companies throughout the Southcentral and Southeastern United States. The company has operations in more than a dozen cities, many of which are also targeted for service by TFA and its corporate partners.

"Stonebridge Technologies' generous gift of services will help us achieve our goal of providing educational and economic opportunities to the disadvantaged in communities across the US," said Will Reed, executive director, Technology For All. "We look forward to combining the skills of Stonebridge's consultants in our quest to tell the story of TFA's efforts to create educational and economic opportunities for America's underserved youth and their families by helping them acquire the necessary skills to function effectively in the digital world."

"Stonebridge Technologies is pleased to support this national effort to bridge the Digital Divide," said Jim Sherriff, chief executive officer, Stonebridge Technologies. "We are committed to working together with Technology For All to leverage their relationships with many other worthwhile community organizations to help young people develop the educational and technology tools needed for success in the new Internet-based economy."

Technology For All (TFA), in collaboration with Houston area nonprofits and community organizations serving the disadvantaged, has helped create over fifty technology learning centers in Houston during the past two years. The purpose of these centers is to provide adequate computer access and training to improve educational and employment opportunities for low-income populations. These sites are primarily after school programs and community centers focused on the needs of children and youth, as well as workforce development. The technology learning centers use both recycled corporate hardware and new technology in a networked environment designed to maximize access and use of applications.

Stonebridge is working with Technology For All to bridge the "Digital Divide" by helping to create their Web site infrastructure that will allow TFA to deliver application software and educational content via the Internet to youth and their families through TFA sponsored or affiliated technology learning center sites around the nation. Software applications and educational content will be shared by agreement through TFA's Virtual Education Center. This will dramatically reduce the cost and technical complexity of continually enhancing software and educational content on individual PCs at computer learning center sites. Additional functionality will allow for chat groups, email for TFA participants, and streaming media.

The new Internet-based infrastructure, which will be operational in April 2000, will first conne ct Technology For All computer learning centers and affiliates in Houston, Texas and Portland, Oregon. Technology For All services will be accessed, by agreement, through direct connection or through a password protected portal on the new Technology For All web site (www.techforall.org) being developed through the gift from Stonebridge.
