Houston, Texas - (June 15, 2001) - Today, Technology For All (TFA) President and CEO Will Reed announced the appointment of Sam Owen as TFA's new Director of WorkForce Development. Mr. Owen has served TFA since July 2000 as the Executive Director of Technology For All-Colorado. He will continue in that capacity in a more limited role as he assumes his new responsibilities with Technology For All. According to Reed, "In his role as Executive Director for Technology For All-Colorado, Sam Owen helped create a new TFA local initiative and developed supportive relationships with over 35 community technology centers in Denver and surrounding communities. We are fortunate that Sam has agreed to expand his role with the TFA team."

As Director of WorkForce Development, Mr. Owen will oversee the development and support of local program partners utilizing SmartForce content to train persons for new jobs in industry. He will also seek the support of corporations who may need or be interested in helping create more diverse and better-trained workforce.

Prior joining the Technology For All initiative, Sam Owen was in sales and management. He began his career with the Xerox Corporation and prior to joining TFA he served as the Region Manager for Lincare with responsibility for several hundred employees. Sam received his BA from Tulane and his MBA from the University of Miami.
