Technology For All-Colorado Organized
Denver, Colorado June 19, 2000 With the support and encouragement of the Tango Foundation as well as other corporate and foundation donors, Technology For All-Colorado (TFA-Colorado) was recently established to help address the digital divide efforts of the state of Colorado. Many digital divide efforts exist in Colorado that will benefit from the focused efforts of Technology For All-Colorado. Benefits to existing local initiatives include shared resources, the possibility of coordinated and focused additional funding, a common voice and the ability to aggregate program and content resources in a way that will benefit all organizations in Colorado working together to solve the Digital Divide.
A project team chaired by Sam Owen, newly appointed Executive Director of Technology For All-Colorado is managing the TFA-Colorado initiative. The project team will secure additional corporate and foundation support, recruit collaborative community partners, develop the business plan, file for separate recognition by the IRS as a nonprofit and recruit the initial board of the directors for the organization. Project Team members include Jim Marsden (Hewlett Packard), Jessica Wright (Colorado Software Association), Luis Villarreal (Save Our Youth), Bob Dodge (IDI Consulting), Cyndi Harper (Compaq), Danny Perry (Enterprise Foundation), Yusef Windam (The Family Learning Center), Tim Mayes (IDI Consulting), Steve Brett (attorney), Doug Wittenberg (Whiz Kids), Jack Burson, CPA and Paul Harris (Boulder Homeless Shelter).
