AceSync Becomes Corporate Sponsor of Technology For All
Online Content to be provided to Underserved Communities

Houston, Texas - (June 25, 2001) - Today Technology For All (TFA) announced that Acesync has recently become a new corporate sponsor of TFA's national initiative to bring technology to underserved communities. As a new TFA corporate sponsor, AceSync will provide online content to disadvantaged children, youth and their families served by TFA affiliated community technology centers (CTCs) across the US. TFA has supportive relationships with over 200 community technology centers (CTCs) in fifteen US cities around the US including Chicago, Houston, New York, Denver, CO, San Diego, CA, Portland, OR, Washington, DC, and Columbia, SC. Community Technology Centers are a place in many underserved communities where students can utilize computers and take advantage of online content provided by TFA. These centers typically serve low-income persons with limited education, who without TFA support, would not have the educational, economic and personal opportunities that many take for granted.

Committed to improving K-12 student achievement, AceSync delivers a focused array of curriculum-based content and assessment products, providing schools with a unique individualized learning process. These products allow educators to assess and increase student progress by providing customized diagnostic tools and tutorials with rich multimedia reinforcement. In the process, AceSync builds a community that stimulates student interests, teaches interactivity, and promotes parental involvement. Because of the sponsor relationship with TFA, students using AceSync products at school, will also be able to utilize them at their local community technology center as well. The AceSync involvement with TFA will encourage supportive relationships between schools and non-profit organizations serving the same students and their families.

"This new relationship with AceSync will encourage collaborative relationships between schools and community technology centers in underserved communities", said Technology For All President and CEO Will Reed. "We are pleased that students and families with limited means will now have some of the same educational opportunities that others take for granted."

TFA provides affiliated CTCs with access to the TFA "eSource Room"â, a private, password protected web space that provides access to application software and educational content. AceSync content will substantially expand the online resources that TFA is able to offer to affiliated CTCs, particularly content focused on K-12 students. Through the "eSource Room"â, children and youth will be able to access AceSync online content focused on their individual learning needs.

AceSync is committed to sound instructional practices that result in student achievement. The K-12 products (e.g. diagnostic/practice tests, aceReflective Analysis™, aceTutorialsSM, aceExplorationsSM) represent a comprehensive instructional package exemplifying cutting-edge, research-based activities. In education, the two major approaches to learning are behaviorism and constructivism. The former is teacher-centered and involves direct, explicit instruction. The latter is learner-centered and involves inquiry and guided discovery. Often considered as opposites by some in the field, a balance of both approaches results in optimal learning. Knowing when to use each approach and how to use both interactively is a constant challenge for educators. The K-12 products of AceSync enable teachers to blend these two learning theories; and because the products are online, teachers can do so for each individual student in the class.

Through TFA, students who don't have access to a computer at home will still be able to access their personalized AceSync online learning environment through a TFA affiliated community technology center.
