Pastor Kirbyjon Caldwell Elected to Technology For All Board Houston, Texas - (August 1, 2002) – Technology For All, a national nonprofit initiative based in Houston, recently elected Pastor Kirbyjon Caldwell to its Board of Directors. Pastor Caldwell brings important skills and diversity to the board and joins other board members of national prominence such as Jack Valenti, President of the Motion Picture Association of America. Kirbyjon H. Caldwell is the Senior Pastor of Windsor Village United Methodist Church in Houston, Texas. Pastor Caldwell is a native Houstonian who was educated in Houston Public Schools. He holds a B. A. in Economics from Carleton College, an M.B.A. in Finance from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business, an M.Th. from Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University, and two honorary Doctor of Law degrees. Pastor Caldwell was appointed Senior Pastor of Windsor Village United Methodist Church in June, 1982. During his ministry at Windsor Village UMC the church has grown from 25 members to over 14,000 members, with an average worship attendance of 6500. Over 120 ministries have been developed at Windsor Village UMC. With his leadership Windsor Village UMC and the Pyramid Community Development Corporation developed the Power Center, a comprehensive multi-purpose complex designed to address the needs of the southwest Houston community. Through the Pyramid Community Residential Corporation, the 234acre master-planned community, Corinthian Pointe, is also being developed as well as Hope Village on South Main, a facility designed to serve indigent women with substance abuse problems. Pastor Caldwell and Windsor Village UMC have been featured in numerous media sources including The Wall Street Journal, Fortune, U. S. News and World Report, Texas Monthly, Houston Chronicle, Dallas Morning News, and NBC news programs. He serves on the Board of Directors and Advisory Boards of numerous Houston organizations. He has received numerous national recognitions, including the Century Club, Newsweek’s 100 People to watch in the 21st century; Southern Methodist University Distinguished Alumni Award; Texas Monthly’s twenty most influential Texans; and United Methodist Church evangelism awards.
