HOUSTON HOPE
HOUSTON HOPE is a collaborative public/private initiative focused on
reducing poverty and improving the quality of life in seven of Houston's
poorest and most blighted neighborhoods. TFA is involved with Houston

The Children’s Museum of Houston
The Children’s Museum works closely with several community technology centers across Houston. Through the Project Accelerate program, the museum has developed a technology based curriculum for after-school programs that promotes math comprehension. For more information, click here.

City of Houston Super Neighborhood Program
Technology For All has worked with the City of Houston Super Neighborhood program in several ways. By providing computers for Super Neighborhood leaders seeking to make better connections with their communities, TFA helps build capacity. Additionally, TFA works with Super Neighborhoods to provide information about developing community technology centers in neighborhoods without CTCs that may benefit from the services that CTCs provide. The City of Houston Department of Planning and Development provides an interactive map of Super Neighborhoods and CTC sites within those neighborhoods. For more information, click here.

Decision Information Resources
A key component of the Department of Commerce Technology Opportunities Program grant for JobTech is evaluation. Decision Information Resources (DIR) is providing evaluation services for the project. For more information about DIR, click here.

East Side Village Community Learning Center
Recognized as Houston’s 2002 Community Technology Center of the Year, East Side Village Community Learning Center (ESVCLC) is a key program partner. As a partner in TFA’s Department of Commerce JobTech project, ESVCLC is serving as both a training and work site for client participants in the program. Jobs created at ESVCLC through JobTech will allow persons in the community to earn a livable wage in their neighborhood. For more information about ESVCLC, click here.

University of Houston College of Technology
Through a relationship developed with the University of Houston College of Technology students at the University are engaged in projects that will enhance the efforts of TFA-Houston to serve the community. UHCT students in the Information Systems Technology Program of the Department of Industrial Technology are required to take the project management course #2238 “Technology in the Community.” The course is designed to provide practical project management experiences for students by working with nonprofits using technology to solve community problems. Houston Community College System
Numerous community technology centers across the city of Houston are able to take advantage of various outreach services provided by the Houston Community College System (HCCS). Classes provided for CTCs and their clients by HCCS include GED, English as a Second Language and other relevant services. In many cases these classes are provided at the CTCs for no charge through HCCS funds or corporate and community contributions. For more information, click here.

Project Grad
Technology For All works with Project Grad to reward students that successfully complete advanced placement courses at several area high schools including Chavez, Yates, Wheatley, Westbury, and Davis. Students participate in “Learn and Earn” program designed just for Project GRAD students whereby they earn a computer to take home. Rice University
TFA has worked with Rice University over the years on several fronts. The most significant current project is the development of Wireless Internet infrastructure in Houston’s Pecan Park Super Neighborhood. Rice University intern Joe Camp is designing, installing, and testing the infrastructure in order to provide free and low-cost wireless Internet services to the neighborhood. Mr. Camp’s work is supervised by Dr. Ed Knightly, Rice professor in charge of the TAPS project and the NSF 100 x 100 project. TFA has received consulting expertise from the Rice University Center for Technology in Teaching and Learning led by Dr. Tony Gorry.

The Telecom Opportunity Institute
Many community technology centers developed in collaboration with TFA-Houston also receive the services of The Telecom Opportunity Institute (TTOI). TTOI provides a structured course in basic computer skills. TTOI is also a key program partner on the STREET U initiative. For more information about TTOI programs, click here.

Houston Area Technology Advancement Center
The Houston Area Technology Advancement Center (HATAC) has been a key program partner on the STREET U initiative. HATAC is focused on creating economic prosperity for all stakeholders by creating a Business-to-Education-to-Business feedback loop that facilitates high tech skills and knowledge solutions for formal and informal education centers across the Houston area. Houston Technology Center
The education initiative at the Houston Technology Center (HTC) is a collaborative project of several organizations including Technology For All and Technology For All-Houston. For more information about HTC and the program, click here.

Texas Southern University
Texas Southern University (TSU) was the lead community partner on a collaborative grant proposal that provided a fiber connection to TFA’s program office at Misión Milby. The fiber, installed by Phonoscope, allows TFA to develop new and unique programs to serve its constituents and the community. The grant received was a Community Network Three (CN3) grant from the Texas Telecommunications Infrastructure Fund (TIF). For more information about TSU, click here.

Houston Independent School District
Technology For All-Houston has a strong, supportive relationship with the Houston Independent School District (HISD) that includes: 1) collaborative grant proposals in support of common goals; 2) corporate computer donation programs; and 3) programs for HISD students that allow them to “learn and earn” computers while engaged in project-based learning activities with TFA-Houston. LULAC National Educational Service Center
Sharing the facility at Misión Milby is the LULAC National Educational Service Center (LNESC). The mission of LNESC is to provide members of the Hispanic community with educational opportunities of the highest quality in order to develop lifelong learners and leaders.
