TFA-JobTech

TFA-JobTech^sm is a document conversion and knowledge management business that provides high quality services to business and industry while employing residents from low-income neighborhoods served by participating community technology centers (CTCs).

As a part of TFA’s social enterprise strategy, TFA-JobTech^sm provides document conversion, knowledge management and other related services as a service to the business community with the goal of creating jobs. TFA-JobTech^sm advances the Technology For All mission to empower low-income and under-resourced communities through social enterprises using the tools of technology.

Through partial funding from the Department of Commerce through a Technology Opportunities Program grant in October 2003 TFA created a pilot project to construct and grow the technical and program capacity at participating Community Technology Centers (“CTC’s”) to an established standard required for the initial creation of jobs in three identified low-income Houston communities. Out of the pilot project TFA created TFA-JobTech^sm.  

The vision of TFA-JobTech^sm is simple - to become a force for personal transformation and community economic renewal. 

Its mission is to educate and empower residents of low-income communities for employment in the business of high value intelligent document conversion, knowledge management and related services with a commitment to customer satisfaction.

TFA-JobTech^sm is accomplishing this mission utilizing the assets, capacity and resources of Technology For All and the low-income communities it serves.  The document service industry is one of the fastest growing business sectors of the economy, and TFA-JobTech^sm is capitalizing on the success of this industry by taking advantage of sub-contracted outsourcing and direct service opportunities. Customers include businesses of all sizes, government and nonprofits.

TFA operates TFA-JobTech^sm as a sustainable social enterprise.  TFA-JobTech^sm provides a supportive workplace offering meaningful employment and opportunity for advancement.  Revenue above expenses contributes to our charitable mission and the ongoing community technology and community development work of Technology For All and its community-based program partners.
