OCR is a process that recognizes the printed words that are present on a physical document. OCR is generally used when processing documents that are printed in "normal" printer or typewriter fonts.

Little or no editing is usually needed for clearly printed documents. No OCR software is 100% accurate. The accuracy of conversion depends on the quality of the original.

OCR Levels of Service on simple text pages

OCR 1 - Auto OCR "as is" conversion. You get the results exactly as the OCR Engine produces them. There is no quality check on this service. Text only - no images -  no editing.

OCR 2 - This is basically the same service as Auto OCR Conversion, with the exception that an OCR Operator does a spell check in a word-processor after OCR to find most OCR errors automatically.

OCR 3 - This output is a full ocr service. Maintain text, formats, font style, and lay-out of the original image as best as possible, usually with at least 99% accuracy of the original.

Standard prices are based on scanning at 200 dpi b&w. Prices are subject to change based upon such factors as: Paper condition, contents, and production scheduling, among other considerations. There are additional charges for Columns and tables for Word Format, spreadsheets, images, Poor originals and Technical manuals. Additional charges apply for prepping, indexing and re-assembly, taxes, shipping and CD, DVD
