In the Houston area Technology For All focuses on assisting and building capacity with community technology centers (CTCs) and related programs. In addition to assisting community-based organizations, faith-based organizations and schools in the establishment and development of community technology centers, TFA works locally and nationally with CTCNet and other organizations to exchange information, pool collective experiences and advocate for equitable community access to technology and the opportunities it provides.
To facilitate the creation and support of community technology centers and other related initiatives, TFA partners with experts in the field of technology and nonprofit operations to work as volunteers. As an example, through a unique service learning relationship with the University of Houston College of Technology , students work with CTCs across the city. As Houston’s community technology intermediary, TFA facilitates those volunteer assignments.
